Lindonéia - A gioconda dos subúrbios - Rascunhos digitais

Rascunhos digitais ilustrando o que pode ter acontecido com Lindonéia. Lindonéia a gioconda dos subúrbios, pintura de Rubens Gerchman que inspirou canção de Caetano Veloso interpretada por Nara Leão. Tropicalia anos 60.
Digital sketches on Lindoneia the brazilian gioconda, Rubens Gerchman's artwork inspired a generation of brazilians and the Tropicalia movement in the 60's. Commissioned work. Not published. Project cancelled.

Above is the one final composition with Lindoneia. The backgrounds are in pen, ink, pencil, acrylics and other digital and non-digital media.Photoshop and Illustrator added some kicks to the composition. A lot of trial and error procedures later and the artwork came out like this. Like all the Lindoneia series it is a storytelling piece.

Várias Lindonéias em diferentes fases do projeto. Mesmo com o projeto cancelado, continuei fazendo alguns rascunhos. O último foi um mix de elementos digitais e técnicas tradicionais de desenho e pintura.

Spammers 2011

Back on the chain gang.The series started back in 2007, I think. it's like being assigned a creative briefing or a major art test at schooll. "Here is the theme now go and get it!" This one is based on a series of random emails that i turn into illustrations. The use the spam message and it's content characterize the sender. I could just about do anything, like being "creative" and illustrate the content in another way. I stuck to character, because that's what i wanted to do at the time. Using 3D modelling for the characters, typography and the actual message. The work started as a poster collection measuring 20x20cm and still is in 2011.
